David Da Silva – Registered Physiotherapist

Born in Guyana, David was a Physical Education teacher at multiple post-secondary institutions in England before completing his education at the Coventry School of Physiotherapy in 1978. The following year, David immigrated to Canada along with his wife, Bernadette, and children Stefan, Jerome, Rebecca and Nathan.
He first practiced as the regional physiotherapist for Northern Vancouver Island, covering the five communities of Port Hardy, Port Alice, Port McNeil, Alert Bay and Sointula. David then relocated to Black Creek and worked for one year at the Campbell River Physiotherapy Clinic. This was followed by approximately two and a half years with St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox. In 1985, he opened his own private clinic before moving it in 1993 to its present location at the Courtenay Health Sciences Centre.
David is a member of both the Orthopedic and Medicine Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, as well as an active member of the BC Physiotherapy Association. He was also selected as a Sports-Aid instructor by the Sports Medicine Council of British Columbia.
